Background

Using unwanted plastic that would otherwise be destined for a land fill site is important to ourselves and others' peace of mind. By purchasing recycled products we all keep the wheel turning. Recycled materials are a sustainable method of conserving finite resources. Using recovered materials in manufacturing new products saves energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. Recycling products rather than producing them from virgin materials produces less carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases during the manufacturing process.

The various colors are sorted, shredded, washed, sanitized and stored in large totes. At this point the recycled plasic is taken to the mixing area. The colorlab technicians add exacting amounts of colored pigments and UV inhibitors to the mix. This is then thoroughly blended to a uniform mixture or consistency.

Once the mixing is completed and some small test batches have been approved for color and density, the large storage bins are taken to the extruder division. Here the recycled plastic is heated to a specific temperature and molten plastic is forced out of the extruder into the lumber molds.

Once the molds have cooled and the lumber extracted, the furniture makers get busy crafting the outdoor furniture. Each piece is put together by hand and goes through a severe end-control before leaving the factory. In all it is the authentic way of making furniture in a modern and environmentally consious way.

The materials that are used do not contain PVC's, which is crucial to us.

Different to the more commonly used injection-molded plastics, our products are extremely solid, strong and durable. Therefore it is no problem to grant a 10 years warranty on each item, unique in this industry.
